Cumpleaños Party

A big thanks to all of you who sent me birthday greetings yesterday.  We had a great time here at the house yesterday afternoon/evening, with many friends and church family.  Mayra and I did a count of everyone who  was here yesterday...44 people plus two babies, plus us, bringing the grand total to 51 people!  Hardly a record, but a respectable number anyway!  Actually, several families that we invited couldn't make it.

Our friend Augustina helped with making the pozole, a stew-like, soup-like meal with hominy, pork (or chicken, pork is better) and lots of seasoning.  You add lettuce, oregano, radishes and hot pepper powder right before you eat it.  Tasty!  Yesterday's pozole was fabulous!  We ate an insane amount of it!

Among the highlights...a piñata that slightly resembled me...hmm...two games of Settlers that I, er, enjoyed, a small little cow that pooped (a gift from Canada), and lots of laughs!  Great to have a full house yesterday!

Check out Tina's blog for more news and pictures from yesterday.
