Community Center Closing Program Dec 2012

I'd first of all like to thank all of you who prayed for our event last evening.  It went very well, and we saw God's hand in many ways.  Thanks!  We had an attendance of well over 100 people, and sold a lot of tamales!

The presentations of the various classes were enjoyable, especially drum class.  His 6 or 7 students played a wide variety of different rhythms on the drums.  Tina especially enjoyed the moment when I didn't know the word in Spanish for "bulldozer."

Toño did a great job with the devotional, and although by that time some people had left, and others were pretty cold, several of us were able to talk to some of the new people in attendance, inviting them to church on Sunday.

The only disappointment of the night was that many people who had signed up for wheelchairs, for one reason or the other, did not come and claim their chair.  Nine people from two special education schools will be claiming their wheelchair in a separate event either Monday or Tuesday.  We will be giving out the remainder of the chairs to different people in the coming two weeks.

Once again, thank you for your support of us through intercession.  We highly value that.  Take a look at some of the pictures (which I stole from friends!) below:

Quote of the Day: God has his followers planted everywhere, sometimes liberally and sometimes sparingly But wherever we encounter them, they are part of his holy priesthood. They are as able as any of us to mediate his marvelous grace-if we are able to receive it...  But for the priesthood of all believers to function properly, we must all nurture each other, listen to each other, see the beauty of Christ in each other and seek God's grace from each other.
