Great Start to a Fun and Effective Week

Our week started off well today, with a meal and a team time at our house after the team's safe arrive at the Mexico City airport.

Then, painting a wall white where a mural will be painted in the next several days, basketball, and meeting Mexican host families.

Everybody has a positive, enthusiastic attitude! We're looking forward to a great week.

In other news, Miguel's mother just died today. It's 11:24 p.m. as I write this, and Mayra and I are just about leaving for the viewing, that will go all night. We'll try to return home by 2 a.m. I'm taking the guitar and some song sheets for a song service to accompany Ismael's devotional.

Quote of the Day: One of the unintended consequences of contemporary church strategies that revolve around performances, places, programs, and professionals is that somewhere along the way people get left out of the picture. But according to Jesus, people are God’s method for winning the world to himself. People who have been radically transformed by Jesus. People who are not sidelined to sit in a chair on Sundays while they watch professionals take care of ministry for them. People who are equipped on Sundays to participate in ministry every day of the week. People who are fit and free to do precisely what Jesus did and what Jesus told us to do. Make disciples. I'm from México City. I move to Baja California and lived there for 17 years. During my stay there, I had the great blessing of meeting youth Missionaries from California,USA. They were beautiful angels for me. One of the occasions they came, my "church" was no walls, no windows, no floor. We used to have church under a tent on ground and folded chairs. Well,on that hot Summer the Missionary Team helped us to build our church, in a week!
We are so grateful to these beautiful angels that came to help us to have a roof to worship our Lord and Savior!
My prayers are with your Missionary Team.
God bless you!
