Women's Conference, Commissioning Service

This Saturday, 17 women from both churches traveled to northern Mexico City to a women's conference in Villa de las Flores. Mayra was stopped twice on the way by cops telling her that she couldn't drive the van that particular Saturday, which was absolutely not true. Several of the women gave testimonies yesterday at the Sunday service of what a blessing the conference was to them.

Mayra returned home just in time for me to go to our men's study Saturday evening. We began a short study on Biblical Leadership, an important theme for the church right now, as we hope to recognize leaders in the not-too-distant future.

Yesterday we enjoyed a joint service with the two churches here, one of about 5 such services we enjoy each year. Yesterday was also special in that we formally commissioned David Gómez for service in Uruguay.

David received notification recently that a church in Texas will be supporting him for two years. The offering taken during the service was also dedicated toward his out-going expenses. At this point he has approximately 75% of his monthly support, and about 60% of his one-time expense. If you would like to contribute, please let him or me know. He leaves for Uruguay December 8.

We finished off our day with a very tasty meal of rice and mole...hmm!

The church will be giving out bags of candy with gospel tracts and literature over the next several days. Please pray for this outreach.
