Pray for our home church...

Word of Life Chapel, located in Bainbridge, PA, about 4 miles from Three Mile Island nuclear power plant (just had to mention that!) is a church that is somewhere around 55 years old, and in it's fairly long life has had just two pastors: Rev. Abram Gish, for some 30 years, and Rev. Donald Wagner, for 20+.

The church has been without a pastor, however, for the last several years, as former pastor and good friend of ours Don Wagner stepped down at age 64, after being diagnosed with lymphoma. We thank God that Don has remained healthy now for the last 5 years or so, as his cancer has been in remission.

So...the church has been looking for a pastor. Our home church is huge for us; if it weren't for the generous support we receive from this relatively small church of some 200 people, well, we'd have to return to the U.S. and raise more support! Pray for the elder board and the pastoral search committee, that God would give them wisdom and patience.

One of the key ministers in the initial days of the church, Rev. Jim Ober, now rather advanced in years himself, has been doing a great job for the last several years as an interim pastor. Rev. Ober was senior pastor for many years at Lebanon Valley Bible Church. He has recently experiences some heart problems; please pray for his health as well.
