New Mexico City driving restrictions
If your car liscence plate ends in 5 or 6 (as our does) we are now unable to drive the first Saturday of every month, beginning July 1.
Can't drive the second Saturday of every month.
Can't drive the third Saturday of every month.
Can't drive the fourth Saturday of every month.
Can't drive on the fifth Saturday when a month has 5 Saturdays.
These restrictions apply to all cars in the Mexico City metro area that are over 10 years old AND all foreign cars (us).
Currently we are unable to drive on Mondays, so every Monday we either walk or take a taxi to drop off and pick up our kids from school, plus anything else we might want to do.
All cars (until now) have been able to circulate on Saturday.
The intent of these restrictions is to try to limit air pollution by prohibiting the circulation of older cars one day a week.

thanks for sharing this Rod...our plate ends in 5 as well...Mondays, 1st Saturday, Mondays, 1st Saturday, Mondays, 1st Saturday....you know someone should sell a little sticker or something to put on the dash with these reminders. I might have to make my own...I'm very used to not thinking about Saturdays for driving in M.C. (hey...there's a small tract marketing opp...and millions would want it)
