The Cotrills

Yesterday it was my turn to preach, and I had prepared a sermon on Genesis 6, the conditions in the world leading up to the flood and the fact that Noah found favor and grace in God's eyes. I decided to change the sermon at the last minute, however, and I preached on gossip and the dangerous of this verbal sin.
Once again this Sundy, for the second time in a month, we needed to make the congregation aware of two members of the congregation that had fallen into sin. Because of the nature of the sin, we did not give any details, and I made very clear that we would not give any details, but nevertheless there would be certain consequences in the lives of these people, and to avoid, precisely, gossip, we wanted people to hear it from me.

The Cotrills also came to visit yesterday. Jim, Shari, Hannah and Nathaneal didn't quite make it to the service due to a couple wrong turns and a lot of traffic, but joined us after the service for a Mexican style cook-out at Samuel and Aurora's house, complete with plenty of beef, arrachera, chorizo and a kilos of tortillas.

Jim and Shari are currently studying Spanish in Cuernavaca. The are investigating several options for their future missionary ministry, among them potentially joining the team here in Ixtapaluca. Please pray for them during this decision-making time. Check out their website at http://cottrillcompass.com/.
