Television spots

Funny thing happened today...I was on T.V. twice, promoting the activity we have planned for this weekend. There is a small, local cable channel, channel 6, that also publishes a small, monthly newspaper that we have periodically advertised in, and through that contact we were invited to appear in two separate live programs today.

At 5 p.m., David and I appeared in "Salt and Sugar," a magazine type format, where we were given the opportunity to talk about the church and the event coming up. The much more worthwhile interview, however, came at around 8:30 during their nightly newscast. The interviewer asked not only about the event, but about what we stood for as a church. I was able to relate to him that the event is intended to make everyone who participates in it reflect about life and death, and whether we are prepared to meet God. I was able to quote John 14:6 and make reference to Psalm 23. It was a great opportunity to practically share the gospel.

Now, not sure how many people actually saw the telecast...the channel says that they have 20-25,000 subscribers, but it was fun nonetheless!
