Book List and Community Center Update

Here's a list of books that I've either just finished or am in the process of reading. Most I would highly recommend...there's a couple that are a bit tedious. The Pilgrim's Progress continues to challenge after all these years. The world has changed, but the nature of difficulty, temptation and distraction remains the same. The Yancey book, really good. The Anne Lamott book is a lot of fun to read.

The Question That Never Goes Away, by Philip Yancey
Bird by Bird: Some Instructions on Writing and Life, by Anne Lamott
Unique: Telling Your Story in the Age of Brands and Social Media by Phil Cooke
The Pilgrim's Progress, by John Bunyan
How to Stay Christian in College, by J. Budziszewski.
The Christian Atheist: When You Believe in God But Live as if He Doesn't, by Craig Groeschel
Subversive Kingdom: Living as Agents of Gospel Transformation, by Ed Stetzer

Our community center semester is in its second week, with clases being taught in all three of our "locales" or small market space areas. One huge advantage of having these spaces is that we pay next to nothing for water and electricity, and the market gives us wonderful access to the community.  Between yesterday and today, 10 different classes or activities are being offered, all free of charge.

Quote of the Day: What are the small temptations in your life? To become reliable in the big things, you have to practice reliability in the small ones. To become pure in the big things, you have to practice purity in the small ones. If you haven't started practicing yet, now is the time. Pray for strength and begin.
