72 Hours of English Classes...Go!

Marcy Metzger, our first intern to arrive this summer, has already begun to teach English. She will be teaching clases at a local jr. hi school in the neighborhood right next to where we live in the morning, then in an elementary school in the afternoon. She will also be involved in teaching classes in the context of our community center. Good to have her with us! Always good to have Moody students here too! Marcy actually just graduated from MBI, and only needs her internship to "officially" graduate.

The ESL (or EFL) internship is probably one of the most difficult to facilitate. Moody students need a whopping 72 hours of classtime during their 6 week internship. Tutoring doesn't count...a class must have a least 4 students. While at the public jr. hi and elementary schools, she'll be teaching classes full of kids...upwards of 50 students per class on average!

Dan went along today to help Marcy with any translation issues she might have. He'll probably be of more help when he actually wakes up!
