Between today and tomorrow, I'm guessing somewhere around 90 people will spend some time in our house, eating, watching the superbowl, and talking about less exciting things like work plans and team budgets tomorrow. Today is a Spanish-language day (nearly all days are). Tomorrow, our Camino Global team gets together for our first team meeting of 2013, a rare English day.
Today, arrachera (a marinated, seasoned beef) on the grill. Those of you who know what I'm talking about...well, I just know your mouth is watering about now. Tomorrow, sloppy joes! Tuesday...go on a diet!
This past Friday, 6 guys from Buffalo passed through on the way to Oaxaca. It was good to see Brigam, and although he would hate to admit this, he actually has matured a good bit from the out-of-control 18 year old we first met 7 or 8 years ago. Trust the group is having a productive time in Oaxaca, with Adventures in Life Ministries and Dave Miller.
Pictures forthcoming!
I downloaded several ebooks on Kindle lately...The Speed of Trust, by Stephen M.R Covey, Short-Term Missions Workbook, by Tim Deaborn, and a couple freebies, The Top Ten Leadership Commandments, by Hans Finzel, and La lucha honesta, por Howard Joslin. Already read most of the first and second, look forward to reading all of them.
Quote of the Day: Deliver Results is how you convert the cynics. It’s how you establish trust fast in a new relationship. It’s how you gain flexibility and choices. It’s how you can restore trust quickly when it has been lost on the competence side. It’s also the first half of the way I define leadership: getting results in a way that inspires trust. Covey, Stephen M.R.; Merrill, Rebecca R. The SPEED of Trust (p. 174).
