Contract Signed!

After a lot of prayer and a few years waiting, we signed a contract to buy a plot of land in an ideal location for the second church plant in Jesús María.  We had a very pleasant time with the owner of the property, actually went in her car to a notary in Chalco, a nearby town.  After signing the necessary paperwork, she invited us to eat carnitas, or pork tacos, at the original site of the Cochinitas restaurant chain, in downtown Chalco.

We have seen answers to many of our prayers today.  The whole process in purchasing this plot of land has been surprisingly free of obstacles, and the typical distrust that often accompanies purchases of this nature, especially in this culture.

We now ask you to help us with your continued prayers and with your wallet.  We need to make 6 monthly payments of about $6750.  We have enough money for today's down payment and about 2 more months.  Please consider if you'd like to be a part of providing a place of worship for the vibrant church plant in Jesus Maria.

Quote of the Day: You cannot listen to the word another is speaking if you are preoccupied with your appearance or with impressing the other, or are trying to decide what you are going to say when the other stops talking, or are debating about whether what is being said is true or relevant or agreeable. Such matters have their place, but only after listening to the word as the word is being uttered.
