Special Service Yesterday

Yesterday we celebrated a special worship service, during which many different people from our congregation participate.  I was coordinating the program yesterday, and that was challenging, as we had 15 different songs, skits, group songs, testimonies or readings.  It was a great time!  Among the highlights...a really cool song by Bryan, a song and presentation from the kids, a presentation by three people from my Thursday guitar class (Daniel, Marco and Stephen) and a song from the men of the church (video below).

We don't have a sermon on celebration days like yesterday...we have around 15 of them!

Afterwards...14 of us for lunch (small, intimate group!), 5 lbs of arrachera on the grill, with chorizo, a couple of brauts, sweet onions and nopal.  Coke, of course, Mexican Coke, which everyone knows is better.  Oh, and some ground Starbucks to finish off the day.

Quote of the Day: Jesus warns people far more often about greed than about sex, yet almost no one thinks they are guilty of it. Therefore we should all begin with a working hypothesis that “this could easily be a problem for me.” If greed hides itself so deeply, no one should be confident that it is not a problem for them. How can we recognize and become free from the power of money to blind us?
