This week marked the beginning of our last week of summer activities at the community center (except for a kids club in August). We are finishing with a bang, offering 5 different classes, some for the very first time.
Cari and Jane Benninger, from our home church, Word of Life Chapel, with some help from Chris Kemp, taught at least 30 students today at 4 p.m. They did a great job!
Hannah Galloway, our only 8 week CAM intern, was involved in a first for the community center...she taught a knitting class. Now, if you would know Hannah, you may be surprised by this, because Hannah is more the cheer leading, swimming, hunting, fishing and camping type, but she apparently has many hidden talents! The class was a huge success, with at least 12 people attending.
David Gómez taught a guitar class. Our 6 o´clock activities, Dylan´s self defense class and Tiffany's line-dancing class were rained out (actually hailed out). It's been raining almost every day for the last week, which is normal for this time of year, and very much needed, as it hardly rained the whole month of May.
In other news...the Beeninger family arrived this past Saturday evening, and have already eaten tacos a bunch of times. They are fully installed in their house (along with Robert) and fitting right in. After this Sunday's service, they hosted around 20 kids in their house, then played street hockey with the rest of us. Great to have them!
