Subversive, effective, intentional Christianity

Tree-houses, an outdoor mini-amphitheater to watch Christian movies, a nice campfire setting for campers...all sorts of ideas running through my mind as to what we can do with an opportunity that, we trust, will soon be ours. A community center with probably 15-20 acres of land attached to it.

Mayra and I spoke this morning about this. We don't want to tail to wag the dog...to be so involved in teaching ESL, sports and music that the sharing of the gospel takes a back seat. God forbid. But all of these "neutral" activities are a way to reach out, to make initial contacts, to gain the right to talk to people about the state of their souls. This second activity needs to be always to end game, the focus.

Samuel and I had another meeting today, then after that another meeting, them we met another acquaintance that works at another federal/state/municipal agency...all of these contacts key, potentially very big, as we begin to retake this area for God. Really. So continue to pray. Nothing has been ultimately decided yet, but we are getting closer.

Quote of the Day: When we begin to glimpse the reality of God, the natural reaction is to worship him. Not to have that reaction is a fairly sure sign that we haven't really understood who he is or what he's done. Simply Christian, N.T. Wright, p.143

Here are two pics from lunch at our house last Sunday.
