To Puebla and back...

The last two days I've gone to Puebla and returned on the 9 p.m. "Intermedio," a bus that is adequate, although not always of pleasant odor...that stops probably 8 times from Puebla to "Puente de Chalco," where I get off.

Yesterday I had a FAMEX meeting. FAMEX is a fledgling missions agency for Mexicans, and its intent is to promote and encourage missions across the country in Bible churches, and to ultimately send and receive missionaries. Wow, we've been going through a real learning curve...I won't go into all of that, but our success to date on both receiving and sending hasn't been, well, let's just say it hasn't been very stellar. It was an encouraging meeting, nonentheless.

Tonight I returned on the same 9 p.m. bus after listening to a very encouraging sermon by Jack O'brien, former director of the Seminary in Puebla for 11 years and currently involved in the missions department at Philadelphia Biblical University. Jack spoke on personal integrity from Matthew 5-6, the focus on the internal instead of the externals...how our righteousness must surpass the surface stuff.

Tomorrow I plan to take Brigam and Ty to Puebla with me. Not sure how long they'll be able to sit still in an all-Spanish environment, but if they get antsy, there's plenty to see in Puebla. They need a break from their English class...and a change of scenery. Brigam plans to go to language school for a month or two soon...I think that's a great idea.

Andres, Mar and Alex's 10 year old son, will also be baptized this Sunday, bringing our total to 7. I hired a 45 passenger bus for about $33o today, and we'll be driving two vans too. Our total confirmed attendance for Sunday and our trip out of the city is 60 people. Baptisms are always awesome times.

Thanks for your prayers.
