Sunday

Yesterday was a fairly typical day for us...we had probably 25 people in and out of the house all day, grilled an incredible amount of arrachera, chorizo and fajita-style meat on the grill and finished it all off with liberal amounts of chocolate ice-cream.

George Clark, one of our visitors from Dallas, was mentioning how the highly relational style of life and ministry has been impacting him and his wife. He also mentioned that he felt like they have been receiving far more than they have been giving while here. That sentiment was also mentioned by the team from Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship...they felt like they received a lot, as well as gave.

It takes humilty to recognize that we have much to learn in our culture...a lot to learn about the value of relationships, of being able to relax and not feel like we have to be "doing" something all of the time, to not feel like we constantly have to be earning our salvation. The church in Mexico has a lot to offer the church in the U.S., the most significant being the priority that the Latin American church puts on relationships, on the development of long and lasting friendship. Of not worrying so much about doing, and enjoying just being. And eating. And laughing. In the process, people are introduced to the grace of God, and his good news gospel.
