Some of you have probably been wondering what happened to the property that we have permission to use, after the conflict that we had with several of the neighbors (really just 3 or 4). Well, after reviewing the law, it turns out we continue to have legal access to this particular piece of property, which is zoned for common use, and obtained by a formal permission issued by the municipality…the exact process that we did. Now for a couple of specific points…

A new municipal president just took office. The neighbors argue that this invalidates the permission given by the last president. Although this is not true, we are nonetheless seeking a signature by the new municipal government to further validate the permit.

Our permit states that it can be revoked if the neighbors have an “inconformity” or problem with us being there. We are investigating what constitutes a valid complaint. If anything, we have greatly improved this plot of land, pulling a lot of tall weeds, cutting grass, cleaning up all sorts of plastic bottles and trash, etc…over 40 trash bags full.

In spite of our legal right to do activities there, we will probably wait a while and ask the neighbors to allow us to do a Christmas drama on the land, a week before December. This is the next big activity that we have planned. Pray that the Lord would grant us favor in the neighbors eyes. Obviously we care about our testimony as a group of believers…otherwise we would just continue to do activities anyway.

In the meantime we have begun to modify the ministry center. We are currently putting a wall and gate on the front of the house, and will be submitting a request for a more extensive building permit soon.

Thanks for your continued prayers. If anyone would like to give to the ministry center, please send a check to CAM Int’l, 8625 La Prada, Dallas, TX 75228, with a note attached directing the monies to Ixtapaluca Ministry Center, Rod and Mayra Fry.

In other news, David came down with bronchitis last weekend, and is just now going off medicine. Cathy also was sick beginning Tuesday, but did not get as sick as David. School is going well for all three. For those of you who don’t know, we decided not to homeschool the kids this year and we were able to enroll them in two different schools nearby. It has been a good decision for us. I am in the middle of an 8 week preaching series on Salvation by Faith. It has already been a blessing to see how people have responded to it.

Thanks for your continued prayers!
